Lead Scientist at ECAT and head of HUMAINT, Emilia Gómez, participated in the online seminar series Machine Learning NeEDS with her keynote "Scientific challenges, practical methodologies and policy perspectives for trustworthy AI".
This talk addressed the links between academic research, engineering practices and policy perspectives in the field of trustworthy artificial intelligence (AI) from a European perspective. Emilia provided a summary of the European approach for AI, analyze relevant ethical guidelines and ongoing legal initiatives, and outline some interdisciplinary scientific challenges for ensuring trustworthiness in different types of AI systems, from autonomous driving to music recommender systems.
