On 3–4 November 2025, the European Commission and the Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU will host the AI in Science Summit in Copenhagen — www.ais25.eu.
Building on the recent European AI in Science Strategy, the Summit will bring together leading researchers, policymakers, and industry representatives to explore how artificial intelligence is transforming scientific discovery — and how Europe can shape this transformation with a distinctive, strategic approach.
Executive Vice-President Virkkunen and Commissioner Zaharieva will take part in the event, which will also see the launch of the Resource for AI Science in Europe (RAISE) — a flagship initiative in the AI in Science Strategy.
Programme highlights include:
- Keynote address: Prof. Yoshua Bengio
- Thematic workshops curated by leading experts: prof. Tejs Vegge (AI in Materials Science), EMBL (AI in Life Science), prof. Markus Reichstein and prof. Saso Dzeroski (AI in Climate Science), Rebecca Adler-Nissen (AI for Society), Matthias Bethge (Science for AI).
- JRC will take part in the Summit’s workshop on Policy for AI in Science.
- The Summit will launch the European Research Area (ERA) Action on AI in Science.
